The good news is that the money taken out from Tijuana has been refunded by
Nationwide . I reported the problem on Saturday, had to confirm the details to the fraud department on Monday as they were closed at the weekend and now its Wednesday and the money is back in the account. Thank you Nationwide for some great service and the overall service that we have received from them since being away has been very very good.

ReplyDeleteWe have lived in Mexico since 2005. I'm sorry to hear that you got ripped off. As per ATM fraud in Mexico---only use ATMs that are actually located inside a bank. Never use ATMS at any other location, such as inside a store or on the street. Clandestine readers are installed on the fronts of these ATMs (the ones that are not actually inside the banks)and when you use them, they steal your account information. Avoid use of debit cards or credit cards as well. Good luck!
ReplyDeletea wedding in the family...how exciting! and a change of plans...hope it brings you back through Montreal!
ReplyDeleteHi Gail, just posted a reply to your last comment (wonderful house!). Thanks for the advice about ATMs. We are being as careful as we can be. We think it was bank machine that our details were stolen from. Thankfully all's well in the end.
